Molly tells us about the coolest thing.......
I arrived at the sailing course feeling excited, nervous and ready for the day ahead.
First we met at the scout hall; I arrived early so I had to wait for a while whilst everyone else turned up.
Last week we had a Start Kayaking course for 6 young people from Warspite & Ajax - here is their day......
Beaver Annual Report - 1 April 2016- 31 March 2017
It’s hard to believe that another year has flown by during which time Beavers have engaged in many varied activities ……. getting out and about as much as possible, in addition to our weekly meetings.
During a Scout meeting, we planned a route from HMS Bristol to Fareham Creek. On the 25th March 2017, we went to Portsmouth Naval Base.
After the Warspite team brought our boat tow home on Sunday, the Royal Navy was inspired to emulate us and bring HMS Queen Elizabeth home to Portsmouth. On a more serious note, well done to the Royal Navy team. Our Cubs, Scouts & Explorers have enjoyed seeing the guiding lights and port improvements during Portsmouth Harbour boating sessions.
Whites Building Contractors have been working at Fancourt Hall today, adding a radiator, installing a replacement boiler and giving our heating system an overhaul.
After a long day afloat, the boats arrived back. A patient army of Scouts and parents made short work of the equipment - bringing an end to a great summer camp. Thanks to our great tow team and brilliant welcoming committee.
The boats are nearly back and we are in a position to guesstimate the return time. We think they will return between 4pm and 5pm. This is very dependant on locks and other factors, so we are asking for help to arrive at 4pm. If they are after 4pm, we will get the boat trailer unloaded first.
The boats are making their way back down river. We are guessing that it will be about 4 till 5pm but we will know more early afternoon.
